Mike Oldfield's "The Songs Of Distant Earth" is a unique and incomparable album to all his other projects. I think that is the best and from then (1994) we didn't see any other ambitious work from Mike. Hi diggers !!! It is well known to everybody that if you dig deep enough, even nowadays, there are still undiscovered gems to be uncovered. Regardless if it is refered to as Fusion, Rare Groove or Acid Jazz, the music remains the same, the names are only a matter of fashion. Inspite of this flightiness, the quality of the music remains the same. What was the 80's answer to the technoid Acid House was jokingly reffered to as Acid Jazz. The music is a mixture of various styles including Funky Jazz, Latin Soul and Latin Jazz - handmade - sort of retro, and above all danceable. Most of the original Acid Jazz hits come from the 60's and early 70's as stylistic barriers were disappearing. Many artists wandered through various musical worlds collecting something special from each of them. Keep on diggin' folks... keep on diggin' !!!

Voodoo-Priests will give it to you as a charm, anthropologists will think of it is an almost extinct tribe of East Bolivian indians, while some of the oldr residents of Portugal might remember it is an ancient dry measure. But to an ever growning number of hipsters Mojo is synonymous with the "Mojo-Club" on Hamburgs Reeperbahn and the "Dancefloor Jazz" that is playd there. This year, Blue Note celebrates its 70th anniversary — and the 25th anniversary of its relaunch after being acquired by EMI Records. The label was co-founded on a shoestring budget by a German emigre named Alfred Lion. But Lion was both meticulous and passionate about recording music that he believed in.
